Padmé Amidala

A native of Naboo who was elected queen in her youth under the name Amidala. During the planet's blockade by the Trade Federation, she sought support in the Senate and returned to lead the liberation of the capital, acting together with the Gungans and the pilots of Naboo.

After the end of her reign, she became senator for her system and opposed the creation of an army of the Republic, for which attempts were made on her life. While hiding on Naboo and then on Geonosis, she grew close to Anakin Skywalker and secretly married him, contrary to the rules of the Jedi Order.

During the Clone Wars, she was part of a circle of senators seeking a negotiated end to the war and limits on the Chancellor's powers. She died giving birth to the twins Luke and Leia shortly after her husband went over to the side of the Sith.
