Naboo

Naboo is located in the Mid Rim and is inhabited by two peoples: humans, who live in surface cities headed by the capital Theed, and Gungans, whose settlements lie underwater. The planet is known for its plains, its lake country, and the mining of plasma, which was exported beyond the world.

The system of government of the Naboo humans is an elective monarchy: the ruler is elected for a limited term, and very young candidates could ascend the throne. The planet was represented in the Galactic Senate, from which came a politician who later became Supreme Chancellor.

The Trade Federation's blockade and invasion caused a political crisis that led to a change in the Republic's leadership. The planet was liberated after a joint action by the Gungan army and the forces of the capital, as well as a battle in the hangars and halls of the Theed palace.
