Exar Kun

Exar Kun was a former Jedi who turned to the dark side and took the title of Dark Lord of the Sith around 4,000 BBY. Regarding the other followers of Freedon Nadd's spirit — the Tetan aristocrats Satal and Aleema Keto, who had founded the Krath cult — as a threat, he moved against them and brought the cult under his control.

By 3,996 BBY, together with Ulic Qel-Droma, he had launched a war against the Republic and the Jedi Order, gathering forces capable of standing up to the galactic powers and relying on the Massassi. To save his ally from trial for war crimes, he led a Massassi force straight to Coruscant.

The scheme turned against him: according to his plan, Aleema Keto used the power of the ancient ship Corsair to tear out the core of one of the stars of the Cron Cluster. Betrayed by Qel-Droma, who led a vast Jedi fleet to Yavin 4, he turned to texts taken from the Great Library and separated his spirit from his body.
