Korriban
Profile
A desert world of tombs, the homeworld of the Sith people and the burial place of their dark lords. The planet's valleys held tombs with artifacts and the spirits of former rulers. Here the spirit of Freedon Nadd crippled Exar Kun and healed him only after he embraced the dark side.

Description
Korriban is the only planet of the Horuset system, lying on the opposite side of the galaxy from Koros Major. In different eras the world bore the names Horusar, Grevid, Pesegam during the reign of Xim, and Moraband by the time of the Clone Wars. The planet was the original homeworld of the Sith people and remained sacred to them, since it held the tombs of many ancient Dark Lords and was saturated with the power of the dark side.
After the Hundred-Year Darkness, exiled Dark Jedi mingled with the Sith people and ruled them, relying on their mastery of the Force. After the Great Hyperspace War Korriban was abandoned and became a barren world. Subsequently a Sith academy operated on the planet — during the Great Sith War, the Jedi Civil War, the Great Galactic War, the Cold War that followed it, the Galactic War, and the New Sith Wars. Korriban also served as the headquarters of the Brotherhood of Darkness, and much later of the One Sith.
