Exar Kun sets out in search of Sith knowledge

Exar Kun trained under the Krevaaki Vodo-Siosk Baas on Dantooine together with the Cathar Crado and Sylvar. In 3,997 BBY he secretly entered his teacher's hut and activated his holocron, where he first heard of Freedon Nadd, a fallen Jedi who had become Dark Lord of the Sith and king of Onderon. Baas caught his student at this and reprimanded him for his arrogance. The teacher sent Kun to summon the Cathar for training duels. Kun quickly defeated Crado, while Sylvar, in response to his mockery of her origins, gave in to rage and left him with a scar on his face. Kun nearly struck her down, and Baas had to intervene and disarm his student. When the Master came out against him himself with a wooden staff, he knocked Kun off his feet with a single blow, but Kun summoned a second lightsaber with the Force, fell upon his teacher with two blades, and cut his staff in two. Soon after this, Kun left Baas. Aboard his ship Starstorm One he headed for Onderon to seek out forbidden information about Nadd; this path led him to the tomb on Dxun, then to Korriban, and ultimately to the dark side.
