Description
The second arc of the Dawn of the Jedi comic, published by Dark Horse Comics in five issues from November 2012 to May 2013. The creative team was unchanged: script by John Ostrander, pencils by Jan Duursema, inks by Dan Parsons, and colors by Wes Dzioba. The story picks up several weeks after the events of Force Storm.
The action still unfolds in the Tython system, in the era of the Je'daii Order, thousands of years before the founding of the Galactic Republic. At the center is the exiled Je'daii Daegen Lok, serving his sentence on the dark moon Bogan, and his alliance with the outsider Xesh; the arc's main conflict is built around Lok's vision of warriors with blades of fire. This arc also introduces to the franchise the concept of the forcesaber, the precursor of the lightsaber.
In the plot, the heroes are pursued by Je'daii dispatched to the planets of the system, which allows the series to show its makeup in detail: the temples of Tython, industrial Nox, and the clan worlds. The arc serves as a thematic bridge between the introductory Force Storm and the final Force War.
