Exile to Bogan

c. 25,792 BBYApproximate dateLast checked: 23 October 2026

Those who broke the balance were sent to the dark moon to reflect until they regained their equilibrium.

Description

Tython had two moons, Ashla and Bogan. Observing them, the planet's first settlers derived the idea of the light and dark aspects of the Force, giving them the same names, and of the need for balance between them. According to Je'daii tradition, both moons were born from Tython's fiery core to remind those seeking balance of the eternal struggle between darkness and light. In the second millennium after the planet was settled, Tythans who did not wield the Force colonized the moons and built stone cities there, and then spread to the other worlds of the system. Over time Bogan became deserted, and by 25,793 BBY the Order had turned it into a place of exile: its abandoned ruins served as a refuge for exiles. The moon had a breathable atmosphere and looked rusty brown from space. The rule was symmetrical: one who had strayed toward the dark side meditated on Bogan, contemplating the light of Ashla, while one who had gone too far toward the light was sent to Ashla and contemplated Bogan. Among the known exiles were Daegen Lok, Hawk Ryo, and the former Force Hound Xesh.
