Skal'nas

Skal'nas was a Rakatan Predor of the Infinite Empire who had risen to high standing from humble origins, fighting his way up by force. He was hot-tempered and was known as a skilled fighter and a master of treachery even by the standards of his own people.

His Force Hound, named Trill, sensed a Force-rich world deep in the Core but could not determine its exact location. He then summoned Predor Tul'kar and his Hound Xesh and, observing established custom, ceded the right of invasion to Tul'kar, having agreed on a division of the spoils.

The plan fell apart: Tul'kar's ship crashed above Tython, and the Predor himself was killed by his own Hound. Unaware of what had happened, Skal'nas concluded that his rival had switched off his transmitter in order to claim the planet for himself, and in his anger he sent Trill to locate Tython and to bring back Tul'kar and Xesh, dead or alive.
