Second Battle of Tython, awakening of the Tho Yor and defeat of the Rakata
Skal'nas descended into the Abyss for the Prime Infinity Gate, but Tasha Ryo's sacrifice awakened the Tho Yor ships, which opened fire on the Rakatan ships; a separate stream of energy destroyed the Prime Gate, and the Predor himself fell at Xesh's hand.
Description
By this time the war for the system had been going on for more than a year, and Predor Skal'nas personally came to Tython to seize the Infinity Gate, a device the Rakata considered the key to the further expansion of their empire. For its sake he descended into the Abyss, the planet's deep chasm, where the Master Gate was located. The Je'daii could not defeat the Rakatan fleet in open battle, and the outcome was decided by something else: the death of Tasha Ryo awakened the Tho Yor ships, which had been silent since the founding of the order. The pyramids rose and opened fire on the Rakatan ships, while the Master Gate itself was destroyed by a separate stream of energy. The predor himself was killed by Xesh, the former Force Hound who had gone over to the side of Tython's inhabitants. The defeat cost the Infinite Empire its fleet and its leader and ended its attempt to gain a foothold in the system, but the order emerged from the war divided and with its balance lost.
