Onderon

Onderon is one of the eight worlds of the Japrael system, distinguished by a temperate climate and extremely dangerous fauna that came from a neighboring moon. Because of the constant threat posed by the beasts, all the settlers gathered in the single city of Iziz, surrounded by walls and fortifications; over time its population grew to millions.

Freedon Nadd, who seized the planet, established a dark side theocracy, and his followers, the Naddists, expelled those who displeased them beyond the city walls. The exiles learned to survive and tame the beasts, forming the society of Beast Riders, and for many years the Beast Wars raged between the two camps.

After contact was established with the Republic, guardianship of the world was entrusted to the Jedi: Master Arca Jeth, who sent his students here, became its watchman. The wars ended with the death of the ruling Naddist queen and the marriage of her daughter to the son of the exiles' chieftain.
