Dalna

Dalna is a small planet of the Dalnan sector in the Outer Rim, at the very edge of settled space. It orbits two suns whose light causes visitors to feel unwell, and it has temperate zones, waterfalls, and a young, geologically restless crust. From space the world appears white and blue.

The economy rested on farming; the local raw material was the gnostra shrub, from which fiber, juice, and wine were made. The few settlers — humans, Aqualish, Pantorans, Trandoshans, and Weequays — shunned outsiders and rarely left the planet, and Republic envoys were unable to bring Dalna into the Republic.

A religious community operated here whose clash with the Jedi and the local inhabitants erupted into a battle remembered as the Night of Sorrow. Later the Nihil group, which raised kidnapped children, established itself on the planet, and the experiments of their scientists caused a seismic and volcanic catastrophe that devastated the world.
