Peace summit on Jedha
Warning: this entry reveals minor plot details.
The Republic brought warring worlds together to sign a peace, but the talks were derailed by an explosion in the holy city.
Description
The war between Eiram and E'ronoh had dragged on since 387 BBY and exhausted both planets. After a ceasefire, the Republic and the Jedi Order secured an agreement sealed by the marriage of Prince Phan-tu Zenn and Princess Xiri A'lbaran. Jedha was chosen as the place for signing the treaty: the moon was proposed by Knight Gella Nattai because of its reputation as a place of concord. Chancellor Orlen Mollo could not preside in person because of security regulations and appointed Morton San Tekka as mediator, counting on his clan's weight in the Outer Rim. The heirs remained at home to rebuild their ravaged worlds, and the treaty was signed by envoys Lian Serox from Eiram and Tintak from E'ronoh. The ceremony was prepared in the Second Spire, security was entrusted to the Guardians of the Whills, and Master Creighton Sun and Knight Aida Forte were sent to observe the parties. Mutual distrust showed itself at once: both delegations arrived with large fleets. An explosion set off by a ceremonial droid killed San Tekka, and witnesses' testimony contradicted one another. Tilson Graf, who was secretly serving the Mother of the Path of the Open Hand, was assigned to replace the mediator.
