Conflict between E'ronoh and Eiram
A years-long war between two neighboring worlds exhausted both sides, and the Republic undertook to reconcile them with the Jedi as mediators.
Description
The neighboring planets Eiram and E'ronoh had been at enmity for so long and with such interruptions that their conflict was called the Forever War: its last flare-up dragged on for five years and ended only three hundred eighty-two years before the Battle of Yavin. Protracted fighting exhausted both sides, ruined their economies, and took a heavy toll on the entire adjacent stretch of the Outer Rim. The Republic, together with the Jedi Order, undertook to reconcile the neighbors and convened negotiations, at which it was decided to seal the peace with a marriage of heirs: Prince Phan-tu Zenn of Eiram and Princess Xiri A'lbaran of E'ronoh. The terms of the agreement were to be enshrined in a treaty, the signing of which was later scheduled to take place on the holy moon of Jedha. The reconciliation was opposed by forces interested in continuing the war: the terrorists of the Children of E'ronoh and the Path of the Open Hand cult, which recruited draft evaders and covertly fanned the enmity in order to thrive on the resulting chaos. Only when the cult's role was revealed did the peoples of both planets unite against a common enemy.
