Helska IV

The fourth planet of the Helska system was located in the Dalonbian sector of the Outer Rim. In structure it is an icy shell around a vast inner ocean, with occasional air pockets in the thickness of the crust. The world was considered uninhabitable in the sense usual for the galaxy and had no native life forms; none of the system's seven planets had been properly settled or even given a separate name.

Here the Yuuzhan Vong set up their first major beachhead in the galaxy: the Praetorite Vong warriors, who made up the first wave of the invasion, placed a yammosk, a war coordinator, beneath the ice. After New Republic forces discovered the enemy, Jedi Knight Anakin Solo proposed and carried out a plan using a shield ship that reflected the star's energy back onto the planet. At the cost of several lost ships, the plan succeeded: the liquid core froze and shattered, killing the yammosk and all the invaders, but devastating the planet itself.
