Gloam

Gloam is a devastated terrestrial planet on the Galactic Frontier, forming a binary system with the world Aubadas. It was the original homeworld of the sentient Katikoot species, who left it millennia before the High Republic era.

The reason for the flight was mining, which caused a plague that turned the infected into something like the living dead. The Katikoots resettled on Aubadas, but over time they forgot their own origins and, since the new world was poor in resources, began once again to exploit the depths of Gloam; only legends remained of the monsters locked away since then. The mining continued to destroy the planet's nature, and by 382 BBY Gloam was on the verge of complete ecological collapse.
