Search for the missing pathfinder team on Gloam

By 382 BBY, the Republic was surveying frontier worlds with pathfinder teams. One such expedition, led by the Jedi Rok Buran, went missing, and communications officers Amos Tillian and Kam discovered its damaged communications droid broadcasting a distress signal. The nearest team — the Jedi Silandra Sho, her Padawan Rooper Nitani, pilot Dietrix Jago, medic Obik, and their droids — was rerouted to the twin planets Aubadas and Gloam. There was no Katikoot city at the given coordinates, and Nitani found the right place by reaching out through the Force toward a large concentration of living beings. Mittik, daughter of Kittik, whom they met there, at first asked the strangers to leave, having become disillusioned with the Republic's promises, but agreed to lead the visitors to the underground city of Diurna. There the pathfinders saw advanced technology and glowing rivers, and learned that the city's prosperity depended on raw materials mined on Gloam, and that mining had been halted because of monsters and the depletion of the deposits. On Gloam, the team found Buran's destroyed ship and learned that the expedition had been betrayed by the Katikoot Rillik, who suffered from the “miner's curse”; of its members, only Buran himself had survived. Along the way, Spence and Dass Leffbruk, who had been stranded on the planet, were rescued. The device Rillik had used to cut Gloam and Aubadas off from communications was found, and Diurna gained a direct communications link with the Republic for the first time.
