Bakura
Profile
A planet in Wild Space linked by a hyperspace route to the Endor system. Its capital, Salis D'aar, was built in a circle and was considered a large and well-appointed city. Description
Bakura was the third of eight planets of the system of the same name, part of the Bakura sector in Wild Space. Its remoteness from the main routes long shielded it from galactic conflicts, and the planet's economy relied, among other things, on mining.
In 0 ABY, two Imperial Star Destroyers with escort ships suppressed the planetary defense network and subjugated the world. Purges followed, and two brief uprisings led to new repressions, after which the Empire firmly established itself as the authority on the planet; a significant part of the mines' output was sent to the construction of the battle station at Endor. Later, during the war with the Yuuzhan Vong, the Ssi-ruuk again attempted to invade Bakura, using an improved entechment technology.
