Description

Gideon took part in the Great Purge of Mandalore and was complicit in the deaths of millions. On the Night of a Thousand Tears he took possession of a Mandalorian relic, the Darksaber, tricking Bo-Katan Kryze into surrendering the weapon in exchange for a promise to spare her people; recovering the saber became Kryze's life's mission. After the Galactic Civil War, Gideon was believed to have been executed for war crimes.

In fact he survived and became one of the warlords who divided up the remnants of the Imperial holdings. He needed the Force-sensitive child Grogu as a blood donor for experiments, and his dark troopers seized the little one on Tython. After losing a duel to Din Djarin, Gideon tried to take his own life, was stunned, and was handed over to the New Republic, while the Darksaber passed to the Mandalorian.

A squad of Imperial commandos in beskar armor freed him from custody, and Gideon resumed cloning work at a base on Mandalore. He counted on gaining power over the galaxy for himself in defiance of the Shadow Council, and he died during the Mandalorians' return to their home planet.
