Moff Gideon's ambush on Mandalore and the death of Paz Vizsla
Bo-Katan's scouting party is ambushed near the Great Forge, Moff Gideon in Mandalorian armor captures Din Djarin, and Paz Vizsla dies covering his comrades' retreat.
Description
Before the main forces landed on Mandalore, Bo-Katan Kryze led a reconnaissance party forward to survey the surface and establish a secure perimeter. The party met a group of Mandalorians who had been hiding underground since the Purge; their commander affirmed his loyalty to Kryze as the former ruler and led the scouts to the ruins of the Great Forge. At the Forge the party was ambushed by Imperial armored commandos, who took the Mandalorians to a hidden base. There Din Djarin was captured by Moff Gideon: he turned out to be alive and in command of the Imperial forces on the planet, clad in the armor of a fourth-generation dark trooper. Covering the withdrawal of his comrades together with Kryze, Paz Vizsla stayed behind in the base and fought. He was killed by three Imperial Praetorian Guards sent as reinforcements to Gideon by the secret Shadow Council of the Imperial remnants. The warrior's death allowed the others to break out and prepare the decisive strike.
