Mace Windu

Mace Windu came from Haruun Kal and became one of the most respected Masters of his generation. He held a seat on the Jedi High Council and, together with Yoda, shaped the decisions of the Order. Windu created the lightsaber combat form known as Vaapad and wielded a rare purple blade.

In 32 BBY he refused to allow Anakin Skywalker to be trained and thereafter regarded him warily. In the arena on Geonosis he led a force of two hundred Jedi who had come to rescue the prisoners, and killed the bounty hunter Jango Fett. During the Clone Wars, Windu commanded Republic forces, including in the liberation of his home planet and in other campaigns.

After learning from Skywalker that Chancellor Palpatine was a Dark Lord of the Sith, Windu set out with three Masters to arrest him. His companions were killed, but he overpowered the Chancellor himself and was about to finish him when Skywalker intervened: he cut off Windu's hand, and Palpatine hurled the disarmed Master out of a window.
