The New Jedi Order: Dark Tide I: Onslaught

The New Jedi Order: Dark Tide I: Onslaught is a novel by Michael A. Stackpole, the second volume of the large-scale book series The New Jedi Order and the first part of the Dark Tide duology within it. The book came out in 2000 and continues the story begun by the novel Vector Prime.

The story takes place in the New Jedi Order era, at an early stage of the invasion of the Yuuzhan Vong, aliens from beyond the galaxy whose biotechnological civilization proves invulnerable to the New Republic's familiar methods. At the center of the narrative is a rift among the Jedi themselves, some of whom dispute Luke Skywalker's cautious approach. The characters include Leia Organa Solo, Mara Jade Skywalker, Gavin Darklighter, and Jacen and Anakin Solo.

The novel belongs to the Expanded Universe and is part of the Legends continuity. Like the other books in the series, it was written as part of an overall publishing plan spanning nineteen volumes and bringing together the works of several authors.
