Labyrinth of Evil

Description

Labyrinth of Evil is a novel by James Luceno, first published by Del Rey on January 25, 2005. The book was conceived as a direct prologue to the film Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and brings the narrative right up to its opening scenes.

The story belongs to the final stage of the Clone Wars. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are on the trail of General Grievous and at the same time are trying to track down the mysterious Sith Darth Sidious, whose presence the Jedi Order senses but cannot pinpoint. Considerable attention is given to the political side of the conflict and to the workings of the Republic under the conditions of a protracted war.

The novel belongs to the Expanded Universe and the Legends continuity. In 2008 it was collected under one cover in the volume The Dark Lord Trilogy together with Matthew Stover's novelization of Revenge of the Sith and Luceno's own novel Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader. A reissue in The Essential Legends Collection series is in preparation.
