Description
A forested, mountainous world of the Outer Rim, also known by the spelling Weyland. In the first years of the Empire's rule, the planet became a base of the Imperial cloning program.
The complex inside Mount Tantiss was overseen by medical officer Doctor Scalder, who brought in the Kaminoan chief medical scientist Nala Se to work on it. Research was conducted as part of Project Necromancer and was under the authority of the Advanced Science Division headed by Doctor Royce Hemlock. The base was guarded by clone commandos with gray markings on their armor.
The base fell in an attack by Clone Force 99, and Hemlock was killed. Governor Wilhuff Tarkin, who arrived afterward, ordered Captain Bragg to close the base indefinitely and to transfer the funds and resources of the cloning program to Project Stardust under Orson Krennic. Later there were rumors that the Emperor kept a huge collection of treasures on Wayland.
