Description
Starlight Beacon is a large orbital station built by the Republic at the edge of the Outer Rim during the High Republic era. It was conceived as a visible promise to the frontier worlds that the center of the galaxy would not leave them without help, and at the same time as a hub for communications, rescue operations, and diplomacy.
The station's interior layout combined service and living spaces: there was an extensive biosphere level, the Great Hall, hangar bays, a tower for medical and scientific research, a security tower, an operations center, Jedi quarters with a meditation hall, and the Marshal's office, as well as a special vault for dangerous objects connected with the dark side.
The Jedi made up a significant part of the station's permanent personnel and flew out from here on calls throughout the sector. The actions of the Nihil raiders against Starlight Beacon became one of the heaviest blows to the Republic in this period.
