Description
A planet of the Shelsha sector in the Colonies region and the sector's capital world. The main city is Makrin City, where the palace of the planetary governor is located; in all, the planet has three spaceports, including Makrin Main Spaceport and Greencliff Regional Spaceport.
The planet joined the Galactic Republic before the Indecto era, and during the Alsakan Conflicts it supported Alsakan.
In 0.5 ABY, Princess Leia Organa arrived in Makrin City to discuss the Rebel Alliance's support for the plan of Imperial Governor Barshnis Choard, who intended to declare the sector independent. Choard was betrayed by his own chief administrator, Vilim Disra, who turned to Imperial forces for help, and so three sides converged on the planet.
