Skirmish on Shelkonwa and the execution of Governor Choard
Shelsha sector governor Barshnis Choard and his administrator Vilim Disra were preparing to take the sector out of the Empire with the help of pirates. Leia Organa, who had come for negotiations, was betrayed by Disra, and the Executor arrived at the capital, Makrin City, with the 501st Legion. Luke Skywalker and Han Solo got Leia out, and Mara Jade and the Hand of Judgment squad eliminated the traitor Choard.
Description
The conspiracy in the Shelsha sector relied on the Bloodscar pirates, who received ships and cover from the conspirators. Information from the destroyed base on Gepparin brought the Emperor's Hand Mara Jade, the Hand of Judgment deserters, and rebels fearing for Leia Organa, who was in the city, to the sector capital, Shelkonwa. Jade was shot down by fire from a scout walker and landed near the deserters and the rebels. Taking command of the stormtroopers, she destroyed the machine, which turned out to be empty, and realized that the pirate Caaldra had already infiltrated the palace. The deserters were ordered to execute the governor, while Jade herself went after Caaldra; as he lay dying, he revealed that it was not Choard but Disra who stood behind the conspiracy. Choard gave himself away with information known only to the conspirators and was taken into custody, after which he was handed over to Darth Vader. Disra had managed to sever his ties to the conspiracy and produced records incriminating the governor; he was not arrested, although the Emperor and Vader did not believe his excuses. Jade let the deserters go, and the rebels left the planet unhindered.
