New Plympto

A temperate terrestrial planet in the Core region, inhabited by Nosaurians. The world was discovered by Corellians approximately ten thousand years before the Battle of Yavin, and the Jedi Order had maintained contact with it even earlier, recruiting potential students among the local inhabitants.

The planet joined the Republic as a supplier of rikknit eggs, the Nosaurians' main export, but did not receive representation in the Senate and gradually drifted away. When the demand for the eggs disappeared, the traders effectively abandoned the world, and the Confederacy of Independent Systems won it over with a promise to restore its market and economy.

Jedi Master Dass Jennir and a battalion of clones operated against the Nosaurian insurgents; after Order 66, he took refuge with the Nosaurians themselves. The old forest tract known as the Hadjial Chase served as a refuge for the survivors. Under the Empire, the resistance was quickly crushed, the population was enslaved, and a governor ruled the planet from the moon Karsten.
