Description
Crait is a small, uninhabited, desert planet in a remote system of the same name. The world is rich in minerals and orbits a single star; almost its entire surface is covered by a thick crust of white salt, beneath which lies reddish rock, so any tracks on the plain leave crimson furrows.
A fortified outpost of the Rebel Alliance, abandoned back in the years of the Galactic Civil War, survived on the planet: its underground rooms were carved into the rock and protected by a massive armored door. Over time the refuge became deserted.
Decades later the remnants of the Resistance, having lost their fleet, retreated here. The siege ended with a battle before the gates of the base, in which light vehicles skimming across the salt plain were used, and the defenders' withdrawal was covered by the appearance of a Jedi who distracted the attackers.
