Valin Horn

Valin was named after his paternal grandfather, Valin Halcyon, and was born about four years after Grand Admiral Thrawn's campaign against the New Republic. The older brother of Jysella Horn, he was passionate about music and studied at Luke Skywalker's academy on Yavin 4. Like his father and grandfather, Valin was weak in telekinesis, but he learned early to communicate with animals through the Force: unable to lift a stone, he persuaded garnant insects to move it in exchange for a treat.

In the war with the Yuuzhan Vong, he was trapped on Yavin 4 during the blockade of the system, was rescued during Anakin Solo's sortie, then studied with other students aboard his grandfather Booster Terrik's ship, and after the battle for Coruscant he was sent to the Maw. When the war ended, he came to Zonama Sekot for the gathering of the surviving Jedi.

During the Second Galactic Civil War, Valin was kept away from Corellia so as not to test his loyalties. In the depths beneath Coruscant, he and Kyle Katarn, along with other Jedi, confronted Jacen Solo, and he carried the gravely wounded Katarn out of the fight; later he took part in the operation to destroy Centerpoint Station.
