Crisis of the Jedi Order
Warning: this entry reveals minor plot details.
A strange illness drove knights to madness, and the Alliance government responded with arrests and surveillance.
Description
The first sign of trouble was the conduct of Knight Seff Hellin, who began behaving strangely; then a similar disorder struck Valin Horn, who went on a rampage until Skywalker himself stopped him. Those afflicted were convinced that everyone around them was an impostor posing as their loved ones, and they did not abandon this conviction even when the signs of the illness became known in advance. Along with the derangement, they gained unusual Force abilities, from folding space to walking along the flow of time. The cause was the influence of the entity Abeloth on those who had spent a long time in the Maw, but this was not learned right away. The Alliance government, headed by Natasi Daala, responded with arrests: Horn was frozen in carbonite until a cure could be found and a trial held, and the Jedi were placed under surveillance. Other Knights fell ill as well: Bazel Warv, Yaqeel Saav'etu, Sothais Saar, Kunor Bann, and Turi Altamik. Some of them had to be secretly taken from Coruscant to Shedu Maad to save them from persecution.
