Snoke

Snoke was an artificial being, a genetic copy created on Exegol by the Sith Eternal cult in the Imperial era. After Darth Sidious's return, he proved unnecessary for Sidious's own designs and was used as a figurehead whom Sidious controlled from afar in order to carry out a contingency plan in case of his death. Snoke had a mind of his own, but he apparently did not know his true nature.

Having taken this name, he gathered lost knowledge of the dark side in the Unknown Regions and kept hideouts across the galaxy containing fragments of ancient teachings; his instruction blended techniques of the light and dark sides, and he once survived an encounter with Luke Skywalker. In time he came to lead the First Order, which had grown out of the Imperial remnants in the Unknown Regions, but he left day-to-day command of the troops to General Armitage Hux, preferring to devote himself to the Force.

He lured Ben Solo, the grandson of Anakin Skywalker, to the dark side, making him Kylo Ren, ordered Skywalker destroyed, and authorized Starkiller's strike against the New Republic. His apprentice killed him aboard the Supremacy.
