Asajj Ventress

Ventress was taken from her family on Dathomir as an infant and ended up enslaved by pirates on the war-ravaged planet Rattatak. There she was found by the shipwrecked Jedi Knight Ky Narec, who began to train her but died before completing her instruction, and the orphaned student, enraged, set about slaughtering the local warlords. That was how she was discovered by Darth Tyranus — publicly known as the Separatist leader Count Dooku — who made the young woman his apprentice-acolyte.

In Dooku's service she led Confederacy droids into battle, kidnapped Jabba's son Rotta, freed Viceroy Nute Gunray, and infiltrated Kamino, all while competing with General Grievous. When Dooku disowned her on Darth Sidious's orders, Ventress returned to the Nightsisters, aided Mother Talzin's schemes against the Sith, and prepared Savage Opress as a decoy apprentice for Dooku; the sisters were soon wiped out by Grievous's army.

Having lost the family she had found, she became a bounty hunter. The trade pushed her into unexpected alliances: she rescued Obi-Wan Kenobi from Maul and Opress and helped Ahsoka Tano when Tano was falsely accused of a bombing.
