The High Republic: Temptation of the Force

Temptation of the Force is a 448-page canon novel by Tessa Gratton, published by Del Rey on June 11, 2024, as part of the third phase of the multimedia initiative Star Wars: The High Republic. The audio version is read by Marc Thompson.

The book is a sequel to the novel The Eye of Darkness and the penultimate adult novel of the third phase. The story unfolds in the High Republic era, when a significant part of the galaxy is cut off by the Nihil Stormwall. At the center of the narrative are Jedi Masters Avar Kriss and Elzar Mann, long separated by the border of the occupation zone, as well as the Knights Bell Zettifar, Burryaga, and Vernestra Rwoh; the plot is tied to an attempt to liberate Naboo and the confrontation with the Nihil leader Marchion Ro.

For Tessa Gratton, who had previously co-written the young adult book Path of Deceit, it is her final work in the initiative's main line.
