Star Wars: Dark Times

Description

A Dark Horse Comics series published from November 2006 to November 2013, comprising thirty-three issues, including issue #0. It appeared as part of a relaunch of the publisher's comics line and took the place of the canceled series Republic. The story and scripts were by Randy Stradley, who worked under the pseudonyms Welles Hartley and Mick Harrison, with Doug Wheatley as the main artist; Dave Ross and Luis Antonio later joined the work.

The story begins immediately after the events of the third episode, roughly nineteen years before the Battle of Yavin, and covers the first years of the Galactic Empire. The series follows the fates of Jedi who survived Order 66, Dass Jennir and Master K'Kruhk with a group of younglings, as well as the crew of the freighter Uhumele and the Nosaurian Bomo Greenbark. A separate storyline is devoted to Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine in the first months of the new regime.

The series consists of the arcs “The Path to Nowhere,” “Parallels,” “Vector,” “Blue Harvest,” “Out of the Wilderness,” “Fire Carrier,” and “A Spark Remains” and is considered one of the main sources on the “dark times” in the Legends chronology.
