Description
Shatterpoint is a novel by Matthew Stover, first published by Del Rey in hardcover in June 2003. It is the first book in the literary line devoted to the Clone Wars and the first work released as part of the Clone Wars multimedia project. The paperback edition appeared in April 2004 and was supplemented with a prologue by George Lucas and Stover's short story “Equipment.”
The story takes place at the height of the Clone Wars. Master Mace Windu travels to his homeworld of Haruun Kal, a planet of dense jungles gripped by civil war, to find the Jedi Master Depa Billaba, who has gone missing there. The novel's title refers to Windu's special gift of seeing points in the Force where an action can change an entire situation.
The book belongs to the Expanded Universe and is now counted among the Legends. It is known for its dark tone close to war fiction and is considered one of Stover's key works in the franchise.
