Description
The first arc of the Dawn of the Jedi comic, five issues published by Dark Horse Comics from February 15 to June 20, 2012; they were preceded by a prologue issue #0 on February 1. It was written by John Ostrander, with pencils by Jan Duursema, inks by Dan Parsons, and colors by Wes Dzioba; the same team had previously worked on the Legacy series.
The story is set in the Dawn of the Jedi era, more than twenty millennia before the Battle of Yavin, long before the founding of the Republic and the Jedi Order. The comic depicts the Je'daii Order on the planet Tython, to which pilgrims of various species were brought by the Tho Yor ships, and its philosophy of balance between the light and dark sides, named after the moons Ashla and Bogan. The narrative introduces the young Je'daii Shae Koda, Sek'nos Rath, and Tasha Ryo, as well as Xesh, a Force Hound in the service of the Rakatan Infinite Empire.
It is the earliest point in the internal Legends chronology explored by comics: the series was the first to show the prehistory of the Jedi and their clash with the Rakatan civilization.
