The Han Solo Trilogy

Description

The Han Solo Trilogy is a cycle of novels by A. C. Crispin, published by Bantam Spectra in the second half of the 1990s. It comprises the books The Paradise Snare, The Hutt Gambit, and Rebel Dawn; all three parts were later collected in a single hardcover volume.

The cycle is an extended biography of Han Solo from his youth to the moment he meets Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Mos Eisley cantina, thus leading directly into the opening of the film A New Hope. The books show the smuggler's development, his work for the Hutts, his meeting Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian, and the circumstances under which the Millennium Falcon passed to him.

The trilogy belongs to the Expanded Universe and is now counted among the Legends. It echoes Brian Daley's earlier The Han Solo Adventures and for many years served as the main source of information about the character's early life.
