Darth Bane: Rule of Two

Description

Darth Bane: Rule of Two is a novel by Drew Karpyshyn, published by Del Rey on December 26, 2007. The book belongs to Star Wars Legends, the body of the Expanded Universe, and is the second part of the Darth Bane trilogy, continuing Path of Destruction.

The story begins shortly after the Seventh Battle of Ruusan, in the era of the Old Republic, roughly a thousand years before the classic trilogy. At the center of the narrative are Darth Bane, who embodies the Rule of Two principle he proclaimed, and his young apprentice Zannah, whose connection to the dark side rivals his own. Opposing them is the Padawan Johun Othone, who is convinced, contrary to the Order's view, that the Sith have survived.

The novel was written as a replacement for the book about Darth Plagueis, which had been postponed at the time. It is continued by the novel Dynasty of Evil, and together they form a story about the revival of the Sith teachings that is key to Legends.
