Description
Allegiance is a novel by Timothy Zahn, first published by Del Rey in hardcover on January 30, 2007; the first paperback edition came out on December 26 of the same year.
The story takes place in the Age of Rebellion, shortly after the events of the film A New Hope. The main storyline follows a group of five Imperial stormtroopers who have left the service and begun acting on their own, restoring order where the Empire fails to do so. Their path crosses with Luke Skywalker and Han Solo of the Rebel Alliance, as well as with Mara Jade, the Emperor's Hand, a character created by Zahn himself in the Thrawn trilogy.
The novel belongs to the Expanded Universe and the Legends continuity. It continues Zahn's long-standing work on the period of the classic trilogy and has a direct sequel, the novel Choices of One (2011), featuring the same heroes.
