Vandor

A cold mountainous world in the Slu sector, in the Mid Rim; also known as Vandor-1 and by the designation ID 53-80. The planet orbits its star in four hundred thirty-five days, has two moons, a breathable atmosphere, and a diameter of about twelve and a half thousand kilometers. It lies not far from the secondary hyperspace route Gamor Run. Non-sentient kod'yoks live on the plains, and luftgriffs are also found.

The world was discovered by the Republic Scout Service and surveyed by the scout Arhul Korubalani, who named it after an ancient poem about wanderings and submitted his observation log to the Survey Corps. He also recommended continuing the survey, since development was hindered by navigational hazards, the Loranse Trench and the Lesser Slu Gas Cloud.

An attempt at settlement was made by the Ipsobay Trading Company, which built the mountain settlement of Fort Ypso. Despite the sparse population, the Empire's presence on the planet grew.
