Port Haileap

A spaceport and outpost on the planet Haileap that operated in the High Republic era and was associated with both the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order. The post of marshal was held by Jedi Master Douglas Sunvale. Among the port's attractions was its own library.

The young inventor Avon Starros was sent here from Coruscant: her mother, Senator Ghirra Starros, hoped to keep her daughter out of trouble, although Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh, who had been assigned to the girl, believed that the port only gave her more opportunities to do as she pleased.

At Sunvale's request, Vernestra, Avon, and her droid J-6 left the port together with a group bound for Starlight Beacon aboard the ship Steady Wing: the Master hoped that Avon's friendship with Honesty Weft, the son of the Dalnan ambassador, would soften the Dalnans' wariness toward the Republic.
