Description
Kef Bir is an oceanic moon orbiting the gas giant Endor in the Endor system, in the Moddell sector in the Outer Rim. The moon was named by the Ewoks from the neighboring forest moon.
Originally the Empire's second battle station was to be placed in orbit around Kef Bir, but the moon's poverty in ores forced construction to be moved to the forest moon, and no garrison was ever stationed here. After the destruction of the station, its wreckage, including the section with the throne room, fell into the local seas; leaks poisoned marine life and caused an ecological catastrophe, and the upheavals that followed threw some of the water into the atmosphere and changed the outlines of the land.
Over time the geological processes subsided, and life began to return. A small community of former soldiers who had refused to carry out orders settled on the moon; later a navigational artifact was found among the wreckage and destroyed immediately after its discovery.
