Description
Ebaq 9 is a barren planetoid, a natural satellite of the planet Ebaq in the Treskov system in the Deep Core. Under the Galactic Empire, a Deep Core mining corporation was permitted to build mines and processing facilities here to work the bronzium deposits, as well as a small base for emergency supply and transport. When the Empire began abandoning the Deep Core after the Battle of Endor, the company abandoned this facility as well.
In 28 ABY, the Treskov system was chosen by the reinstated Admiral Gial Ackbar: the dead-end hyperspace route to Ebaq and the old base were suitable for a trap into which large Yuuzhan Vong forces were to be lured. In the battle at Ebaq, the former Jedi Knight Vergere, of the Fosh species, was killed, sacrificing herself to save Jacen Solo and destroying almost all of the enemy warriors on the moon. The surviving Warmaster Tsavong Lah fell in a duel with Jaina Solo.
