Battle for Nickel One in the Roche system
The forces of Darth Caedus and the Imperial Remnant stormed the asteroid Nickel One, using a nanokiller against the Verpine.
Description
The Imperial Remnant was at that time a state associated with the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, and it sided with Darth Caedus. The Alliance sought to seize the Roche asteroids in order to put Verpine technology to its own use; on the side of the defenders were the Mandalorians, as well as Jaina Solo, Caedus's twin sister. The Imperials used an aerosol nanokiller designed to strike only the Verpine soldier caste and leave the others untouched: the workers were to survive and continue laboring in the weapons factories. The flagship of the Imperial forces in the battle was the Super Star Destroyer Dominion. The outcome of the battle proved costly for the attackers: a concentrated attack by starfighters launched from the asteroid Nickel One turned the Dominion into a burning hulk. In discussions of the Moff Council it was noted that two moffs who were aboard died in this strike.
