Death of Shimrra Jamaane on Yuuzhan'tar

The arrival of the living planet Zonama Sekot threw the Yuuzhan Vong into turmoil: Supreme Overlord Shimrra Jamaane had gained power by overthrowing Quoreal, who had refused to invade the galaxy precisely because of Sekot's existence. Fearing the prophecy, Shimrra ordered a ship infected with the Alpha Red virus to be sent against the living world and at the same time ordered the extermination of the Shamed Ones, among whom the Jedi heresy was spreading. When the fleet of the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances broke through to Yuuzhan'tar, formerly Coruscant, Shimrra ordered the World Brain to cause fires and earthquakes capable of rendering the planet uninhabitable. A strike team led by Luke Skywalker and Jacen and Jaina Solo fought its way to the Overlord's citadel; the way was cleared by Jacen, who persuaded the World Brain to stop the destruction. In the citadel Shimrra wounded Skywalker with the poison of the Scepter of Power and drew Anakin Solo's lightsaber, intending to kill his enemy with his kinsman's weapon. Skywalker cut through the scepter and, pulling a second blade to him with the Force, beheaded the Overlord. The death of Shimrra and of his secret puppet master Onimi ended the war.
