Battle of Christophsis

Several months after the first battle on Geonosis, the Confederacy sent an army to Christophsis under General Whorm Loathsom and the assassin Asajj Ventress: the planet attracted the Separatists with its resources and its position on the Corellian Run. At the same time, Admiral Trench sealed off the system with a fleet of about thirty ships, cutting it off from outside help. The Republic sent Senator Bail Organa's humanitarian mission to the planet, but it ended up trapped together with Republic units in the eastern suburbs of the capital, and the defenders' supplies were running out. The Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker were sent to break the blockade and deliver the cargo; hidden in the hold of Kenobi's flagship was a prototype ship with a cloaking device. The course of the battle was complicated by treachery within their own ranks: the clone sergeant Slick, who regarded the clones' service as legalized slavery, was passing information about Republic plans to Ventress for payment. His exposure and the subsequent rout of the Separatist army made the battle one of the Republic's first notable successes in the war that had begun.
