Battle of Kashyyyk

By the third year of the war, Kashyyyk was already under Separatist oppression: Trandoshans allied with the Confederacy had set up permanent slave camps for Wookiees on the planet, and the world itself was regularly subjected to raids and reconnaissance strikes. The planet was valuable for its position at the intersection of four busy hyperspace routes and its proximity to the Confederacy's industrial worlds. Of particular interest were the archives of the ancient guild of cartographers and navigators, the Claatuvac, in the tree city of Kachirho, which held information about secret hyperspace routes. Hoping to turn around a war that was going badly, General Grievous ordered an invasion, hoping to force the Wookiees into submission; during the landing, the Trandoshans captured Tarfful. Yoda, who had long maintained good relations with the Wookiees, came to the planet's aid and led the joint defense of Republic troops and local warriors. The successful resistance was cut short by Order 66: the clones turned their weapons on their own commander, whom the Wookiees helped to leave the planet.
