Val

Val was a member of Tobias Beckett's crew and his lover. She was responsible for demolitions and took part in the gang's work for the Crimson Dawn syndicate: it was she who found, in a crate stolen on Cato Neimoidia, the log known as the Smuggler's Guide, and she who planted a tracking beacon on Dvorad during the job on Hovun IV.

Around 10 BBY the gang undertook to steal Imperial coaxium from a conveyex traveling a mountain route on Vandor. Val took up a position on a bridge in order to detonate the charges at the right moment and stop the train. When the Cloud-Riders and Imperial forces appeared on the scene, the plan fell apart.

Realizing that retreat was impossible and that her partners would not have time to get away, Val blew up the bridge along with herself. Her death, like that of Rio Durant in the same job, left Beckett without a crew and forced him to take on Han Solo and Chewbacca.
