Lady Proxima

Proxima belonged to the Grindalid species, for whom sunlight is deadly, and therefore made her home in an underground den on Corellia. In the High Republic era she was a member of the Garavult clan and, together with her kin, took part in repelling a Nihil raid on the planet; she assembled her own gang only much later.

The White Worms took in Corellian youngsters, fed them, and gave them shelter, demanding in return their participation in criminal activities; Han and Qi'ra were among these wards. In 13 BBY Han came to her without the coaxium he had been sent for, and when he was threatened with a beating, he smashed a window of the den with a rock. The flood of light burned Proxima's face and forced her to retreat under the water; the burn remained for years.

She still led the gang decades later. After the Cold War, Bazine Netal, who was searching for the Millennium Falcon, came to see her, and Proxima, after telling her about Han's return to Corellia, sent the visitor to a certain Dukane on Jakku.
