Jyn Erso

Jyn Erso was the daughter of the scientist Galen Erso, whom the Empire forced to work on the creation of a superweapon, and after her mother's death she grew up under the care of the partisan Saw Gerrera, then was left on her own and was arrested more than once. The Alliance freed her from an Imperial camp precisely because of her connection to her father.

On Jedha, she received from Gerrera a recording in which Galen Erso confessed that he had deliberately built a weakness into the battle station and that the plans were kept in the Imperial archive on Scarif. The Alliance Council did not dare to launch an open attack, and Erso, together with the intelligence officer Cassian Andor, the defector pilot Bodhi Rook, the droid K-2SO, and the monks Chirrut Îmwe and Baze Malbus, went there without authorization.

In the battle on Scarif, the team fought its way to the archive tower and transmitted the plans to the fleet in orbit, but none of the participants survived: Erso died on the planet together with Andor when the station struck Scarif.
